Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question.
In my psychology practice, I have worked primarily with individual adults and couples. I have also worked with children and teens.
I work with people of all cultural and religious backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender expressions and with various abilities.
As a death doula, I work with individuals and their loved ones typically before there is severe impairment, to help them face end-of-life with intention and create plans that prioritize their dignity.
In an initial intake interview, we will go over consent, discuss what to expect, get to know one another a little bit. I will ask a few questions so that we can start thinking about goals we can work on together. I usually try to focus on making sure that my clients feel more comfortable by the time we wrap up. You can come prepared with questions to ask me if you like!
In doula work, please contact me to set up an initial free consultation. What to expect varies case by case.
Counselling psychology sessions are 50 minutes. I can also offer 90 minute sessions.
My rate is $235.00/hour.
Fees are in line with the Psychologist's Association of Alberta Fee Schedule.
I offer brief 10-15 minute phone consultations free of charge.
Working on it! But not yet.
We will need a credit card on file to process payment and you will then be able to submit receipts for reimbursement.
Doulas are not regulated health professionals and are paid for privately. We can discuss a customized package and cost in a brief initial consultation free of charge.
I'll let you know when it looks like we're making progress on our therapy goals and can slow down on the frequency of sessions or if it looks like we might need to follow up sooner rather than later. You can always be the judge of your own progress, and you are allowed to take breaks or end whenever you want therapy to end. You can leave, find someone else, or ask me for other options at any time and I will do my best to support your requests.
In doula work, the client and doula discuss and decide on a package and rate, including when to expect our work to wrap up. Death doulas can work with clients in preparation for end-of-life decisions at any time (including when you're young and healthy). Death doulas can also support someone as they are approaching death, actively dying, or can even lend some brief care to family members after death.
Please give me as much notice as possible to cancel or move an appointment. A no-show or late cancellation is subject to the full session fee.
If there's an emergency or a sudden illness, please don't come in sick or rush to see me. Please notify me as soon as possible and we will work out a fair option.
Some diagnoses require a formal assessment. If you are seeking a diagnosis for anything, please let me know. I may be able to help, otherwise I can walk you through your best steps and referrals for formal assessment if needed. I do not prescribe medications.
As a registered psychologist, I'm regulated through the College of Alberta Psychologists and am committed to upholding the principles of the Canadian Code of Ethics for Psychologists. I maintain confidentiality of our work together, except in circumstances where I am legally mandated to disclose your information. If a request is made for your file, I will always obtain consent to release from my clients and share only what is necessary for the purposes of the request.
Please note that to protect the integrity of our work together, I do not provide psychological services to multiple individuals from the same family, and I don't provide psychological counselling to individuals with whom I have worked as an end-of-life doula. I am able to provide referrals.
